AISI 4140 carbon steel rod is a low alloy steel rod containing chromium, molybdenum and manganese.

AISI 4140 is an excellent material choice for a wide range of industries due to its toughness, high fatigue strength, wear resistance and impact resistance. The hardness of AISI 4140 is hrc28~32 and the hardness of AISI 4140 after annealing is hrc22~28. The chemical composition of AISI 4140 contains 0.38~0.43% carbon, 0.17~0.37% silicon, 0.50~0.80% manganese, 0.15~0.35% sulfur, 0.15~0.35% phosphorus, 1.20~1.60% chromium, and 0.40~0.60% molybdenum.
